Scene Management Tool
The Scene Management Tool is a custom Unity Editor tool that provides various scene management features to help you load, save, and create scenes more efficiently. It also offers functionality to add scenes to the Build Settings.
Features of the Scene Management Tool:
- Load Scene: Allows you to select and load a scene from your project. Before loading a new scene, it prompts you to save the current scene if it's modified. You can choose to save, discard changes, or cancel the loading process.
- Save Scene: Saves the currently active scene. If the scene has not been saved before, it prompts you to choose a save location and filename. After saving, the scene is marked as not dirty.
- New Scene: Creates a new scene, discarding the current scene if it's modified. It prompts you to save the current scene before creating a new one. The new scene is created with default game objects.
- Scene Information: Displays information about the current scene, including its name, file path, and build index. It also indicates whether the scene has unsaved changes (dirty state).
- Add Scene to Build Settings: Adds the current scene to the Build Settings if it's not already included. This ensures that the scene is included in the build when you build your project.
How to use the Scene Management Tool:
- Open the Scene Management Tool from the Unity Editor's top menu under "Custom" -> "Scene Management Tool".
- Use the "Load Scene" button to open a scene. It will prompt you to save the current scene if it's modified. Choose the appropriate option based on your preference.
- Click the "Save Scene" button to save the current scene. If the scene hasn't been saved before, it will prompt you to choose a save location and filename.
- Press the "New Scene" button to create a new scene. It will prompt you to save the current scene if it's modified. Choose the appropriate option based on your preference.
- The "Scene Information" section displays details about the current scene, including its name, file path, and build index. It also indicates if the scene has unsaved changes (dirty state).
- Use the "Add Scene to Build Settings" button to add the current scene to the Build Settings. This ensures that the scene will be included when you build your project.
